Meet Laly

A tiny ladybug who wonders about everything

Laly is a tiny, curious ladybug in an enormous, fascinating garden. She’s a chatterbox and a dreamer, a little clumsy, and quietly brave: she can feel scared, take a breath, and still choose to go.

And little by little, she’s discovering there’s more to the world around her, and more within herself, than she ever imagined.

  • Tiny Treasure Collector. She keeps small, overlooked things long before she knows what they’re for.
  • The Namer. A shiny button becomes a Moonbutton. And after a clumsy fall? “Ouch! Guess I’m a tumblebug, not a ladybug!”
In the garden

Meet Laly's friends

They all share one big old oak tree, each on their own level. And no two of them see the world the same way.

Ant

The Planner

Has a to-do list for practically everything.

Bee

The Busy One

Always buzzing somewhere, and somehow knows all the Garden News.

Butterfly

The Particular One

Likes things just so, with a cotton-candy heart underneath.

Robin

The Capable One

Sees far and knows every route. Laly sees close.

Snail

The Slow-Life Creative

Takes life at her own pace, and makes beautiful things along the way.

Cricket

The Jumper

Leaps first, looks later. Forgets the plan, never her friends.

The Wise Old Oak Tree

Home to everyone

Everyone moves. The Tree stays.

For grown-ups

There's more within every child.

Laly gives parents a world they can feel good about bringing into childhood, filled with wonder, imagination, laughter and adventure, and grounded in a gentle belief: there is more within every child than they may yet know.

Laly doesn’t tell children what their powers are. She discovers hers, and leaves room for them to discover theirs.

Magic already around us. Power already within us.

Where it all began

A note from Laly's creator

Where Laly came from

Hi! I’m Hila, the author and illustrator behind Laly, and mom of three wild and wonderful boys. I’m also a designer who finds magic in moonlight, stardust, and the sound of electric guitars and violins.

Laly was born together with my son Yanir. He arrived against all odds, like a little miracle, and I felt so lucky and so blessed. (Ladybugs bring luck, or so they say.)

Yanir loved stories about tiny garden creatures, I’ve always loved ladybugs, and his arrival filled me with the wish to create something for little ones. So I drew a tiny ladybug with a giant heart and endless curiosity, who discovers there’s more inside her than she ever imagined. I believe the same is true of every child.

I hope Laly brings your family a few cozy, curious moments together, and a reason to come look a little closer.

With big love and tiny hugs,
Hila 💜
